According to a prominent tipster who frequently shares information about Samsung products, the Google Pixel 8 series is still a few months away, but it’s rumored that the Pixel 8 Pro could receive a significant upgrade to its primary camera.
Reportedly, the Pixel 8 Pro may feature Samsung’s largest ISOCELL sensor, the GN2, which measures 1/1.12 inches and has a native resolution of 50MP (12.5MP after binning), resulting in an effective pixel size of 2.8µm. This is a significant improvement over the 50MP, 1/1.31-inch sensor found in last year’s Pixel 7 Pro.
Given that many high-end models are transitioning to 1-inch sensors, it would be sensible for Google to enhance the sensor size of its flagship camera phone as well. However, the tipster did not provide any additional information, so we will have to wait for further details.
