It looks like GoPro is making a comeback after DJI and Insta better spec action cameras. This time round, GoPro is going all out to get back on track to grab back it’s lost marketshare. GoPro has officially launched the Mission 1 series, featuring a 1-inch, 50-megapixel sensor and the all-new GP3 processor across the entire lineup. The 1 Pro and 1 Pro ILS models support 8K/60p recording with an impressive 14 stops of dynamic range. Most shockingly, the top-tier Mission 1 Pro ILS adopts a Micro Four Thirds (M4/3) mount, shattering the physical limitations typically associated with action cameras.

The 1 Pro/1 Pro ILS supports 1080p/960fps ultra-slow motion and 8K Open Gate format for flexible post-production cropping. Battery life across the series has seen a massive boost, lasting over 3 hours during 4K recording. Waterproofing without a housing has doubled to 20 meters, and 32-bit float audio has been integrated to prevent audio clipping. The Mission 1 and Pro versions will hit the market in late May, while the interchangeable lens version (ILS) is expected to arrive in Q3.
