Realme the sub brand of Oppo enters the Singapore market a few weeks ago. The first product that arrives at our shore is the Realme XT.

The realme XT brings high resolution photography to the masses. With it’s 64 megapixel sensor from Samsung, the 1/1.72″ 64MP ISOCELL GW1 sensor is 34 percent larger than a 48 MP sensor. It features 4in1 tetracell pixel binning for crystal clear images. With it’s f/1.8 apeture it is able to capture more light and shoot better photos in low light environments. Pictures can be captured at a pixel count of 6944×9280.

In addition, the quad camera set up includes a 8MP ultrawide angle lens, macro lens, potrait lens and a front selfie 16MP camera.

The realme XT features a symmetrical 3D glass curve back design made of gorilla glass 5 that gives it a eye catching visual. The ultra 91.9 percent screen to body ratio comes with a 6.4inches screen FHD+ super AMOLED display for excellent visual display.

Powered by VOCC 3.0 realme XT takes only 50 minutes to full charge up the 4000mAh battery. This is way faster than other expensive brands out there. VOCC charging power is rated 5V 4A.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 712AE processor and runs up to 2.3Ghz. The phone supports NFC, so you are able to use your google pay or singtel dash with this phone. There is dual nano SIM support with a third tray for microSD card. The smartphone also supports Dolby Atmos sound.

In the next few pages, we do a hands on test of the realme XT, taking some pictures and see if it is worth the price tag of S$469.

First, let’s take a look at the 8 MP ultra wide angle lens. The pictures are resized to fit into the page. With the wide angle, you can capture more details of the surrounding.

Does high megapixel actually matters ? We took 2 pictures and cropped it 1:1.

As we can see, the 64 megapixel does plays an important role in preserving details.

As for zoom, it supports up to 5x. 2x is still fine but anything above it might turn out blurry.

The Realme XT paired with a Samsung 64 Megapixel does produce very detail photos with vibrant colours. As we can see, 64 Megapixel does make a difference to photos captured.

It is a pity that the phone doesn’t come with optical image stabilisation. This might have an impact on picture quality unless it’s mounted on a tripod for video shoot.

For the price tag, I think the Realme XT is a good alternative to brands like Redmi.

Cheapest price on Lazada is S$432 with one year warranty.
