The future of mobile isn’t just folding; it’s tri-folding. Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold, a device that blurs the line between a high-performance smartphone and a full-sized tablet.
With the largest screen ever on a Galaxy phone and a groundbreaking hinge design, the Z TriFold is built for the modern AI era. Here is everything you need to know about this engineering marvel.
Unbelievably Thin, Unmatched Power
Despite its complex mechanism, Samsung has achieved an engineering miracle. The Galaxy Z TriFold measures just 3.9 mm at its thinnest point.

Don’t let the slim profile fool you. Under the hood, it is powered by the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy (3nm). Whether you are gaming, rendering video, or running intensive AI tasks, this device delivers flagship-level performance without compromise.

The Ultimate Multitasking Canvas
The star of the show is the massive 10-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Main Screen. When fully opened, it offers a workspace equivalent to three 6.5-inch smartphones side-by-side.
- Productivity: Resize apps in multi-window mode to view critical data simultaneously, or hold the device vertically for a document-reading experience that rivals e-readers.
- Smart Taskbar: A taskbar at the bottom right instantly resurfaces your recently used apps, making switching contexts seamless.
- Entertainment: Watch high-definition content while scrolling through comments or browsing the web side-by-side.
Even when closed, the experience is premium. The 6.5-inch Cover Screen hits a peak brightness of 2600 nits, ensuring visibility even in direct sunlight. Both screens feature a silky-smooth 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate.
A Battery Built for Three Screens
Powering a 10-inch display requires serious juice. Samsung has implemented a unique 5,600 mAh three-cell battery system, distributing power cells across all three panels. This not only provides all-day endurance but also ensures the device feels perfectly balanced in your hand.
When you do run low, you can get back to 50% charge in around 30 minutes thanks to 45W Super-Fast Charging 2.0.

200MP Photography
Foldables have historically compromised on cameras, but the Z TriFold breaks that trend. It features a pro-grade camera system anchored by a massive 200 MP Wide-Angle Camera with OIS.
- Main: 200 MP (F1.7) for incredible detail.
- Ultra-Wide: 12 MP (120˚ FOV) for expansive landscapes.
- Telephoto: 10 MP with 3x Optical Zoom (up to 30x Space Zoom).

First Hand Thoughts
It’s a nice device to have, but its width makes one-handed use a bit challenging, especially when watching your favourite YouTube or Netflix shows. You’ll likely need a stand and use it more like a compact tablet. On top of that, the price may be a little hard to justify for some users.
While the display looks great, it is quite prone to fingerprints. And like most foldables, there’s a noticeable crease where the three panels meet.
The camera, however, performed impressively in our dim-light tests, producing beautiful shots. Since this was only a first-look session, we haven’t explored other features yet, such as DeX or advanced multi-window app layouts.
