Huawei assures Android app support for global users Huawei has confirmed that its overseas users will continue to receive Android app support for their existing devices, even after they upgrade to the company’s own operating system, HarmonyOS Next. This was stated by a Huawei spokesperson, who said that Huawei is dedicated to providing security updates and services for its global customers.
HarmonyOS Next is Huawei’s alternative to Android, which the company launched in China earlier this year. Huawei aims to install HarmonyOS Next on more than 200 devices by the end of 2023. HarmonyOS Next can run Android apps, but some Google apps and services may not function properly on the new platform.
