News from various sources indicates that Intel will stop hosting the IDF in 2017 at Shen Zhen and San Francisco. Intel Developer Forum began in 1997 to showcase their newest technology. The cancellation of such events probably signal the consolidation of resources for showcase events.
Intel is planning to host specific technical forums or product launch conferences for its products and supply chain partners. New platforms will continued to be unveiled at major IT trade shows e.g. Computex, CES etc while water technologies will be discussed at hosted events such as Intel Technology and Manufacturing Day, hosted at the end of March in San Francisco
