SINGAPORE, 26 July 2013 – M1 Limited (M1) today announced the launch of MiBox, an exciting new Internet TV service that offers video-on-demand entertainment and educational titles, games, e-books and apps at an affordable price.

Priced at just $8 a month with a 2-year contract for M1 fibre customers, M1’s MiBox service comes bundled with an Android set-top box and a selection of free dramas, variety shows and other content. The service is also available to non-M1 fibre customers at $12 a month. As a launch promotion, the first 10,000 customers to sign up for MiBox will enjoy subscription fee waivers of 12 months for M1 fibre customers and 6 months for non-M1 fibre customers.

To access MiBox’s library of 18,000 video-on-demand titles, 116 TV channels, 1,200 e-books and 370 apps, customers just need to plug in the user-friendly set-top box, which comes with a parental control feature, to their television set via a HDMI cable.

“Media consumption habits are shifting towards an on-demand, a-la-carte model. M1’s MiBox aims to enhance this experience by delivering convenient and affordable access to an exciting library of entertainment, e-learning, and gaming content optimised for the TV screen,” said M1’s Chief Marketing Officer, Mr P. “With MiBox, customers can surf, learn and play, beyond the limits of traditional TV,” added Mr Subramaniam.

Customers can sign up for the MiBox service at all M1 Shops, M1 Exclusive Dealer Shops and online from 27 July.
