With more MVNOs flooding the market with cheaper plans, prepaid cards have to find a new way to maintain it’s subscribers. That is probably the reason why M1 chose to offer some of the facilties which previously were only available to post paid to it’s prepaid users.

VoLTE is not new to M prepaid card but not many people use it. With your data enabled and SIM inserted into a 4G handphone, this enables both VoLTE and VoWIFI (depends on phone). With VoLTE, calls are connected much faster than before and the clarity is way better than 3G days.

With the affordable data packs, M1 prepaid card could be a way for the seniors who just needs minimum data for scanning QR codes to enter premises. For example a 300 MB data pack for $5 a month. You might say there are plans that offers much data for $5. Yes there are but you are tied with a monthly contract. Prepaid cards you just probably need to top up or pay to extend the validity of the card.

Another piece of good news is that it supports 4G+. Non locals who do not wish to place a deposit for a postpaid line might find this as an alternative. You can now surf at high speeds with CA (carrier aggregation).

Below are screen shots showing the 4G+ presense and VoLTE capability when data is switched on from the M1 App. and SIM inserted into a 4G capable phone.
