The Oppo Reno 10X Zoom is an all rounder, be it in the performance and in photography. Being the only smartphone that is based on the Snapdraon 855 and offers a 60X Digital Zoom, it is definitely a good alternative to the Huawei P30 Pro (based on Kirin 980).
The Reno 10X zoom comes with a 4065mAh Battery + VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge. In our test, it can finish charging it within 1 hr 35 mins while it took almost 2 hrs to completely charge up the Pixel 3 XL.
As a photographic centric smartphone, the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom takes excellent photos even at 10X using a mixture of optical and digital. 20X is still acceptable but anything above it really requires steady hands or a tripod to take a shot which may lack details. Taking night shots is easy with is wide aperture and bigger sensor size smartphones available in the market. We took quite a few shots and the image quality is very good. As compared to the Pixel 3 XL, the colours are less saturated which may need some adjustments through software to attain the punch that most people prefer.
Although I like the idea of mechnically hidding the front lens to give you a full screen bezelless experience, the chances of a malfunction due to mechnical wear and tear cannot be dismissed.
The Oppo Reno 10X zoom is now available on Lazada and Qoo10 from S$988. It is also retailing on Amazon US retailer from USD 687
