Conclusion

The Oppo Reno4 Pro didn’t disappoint with it’s mid range 720G offering. Paired with the 90Hz curved screen, there is practically no lag in scrolling.

Oppo Reno4 Pro has got it right with a slimmer body and the volume up/dn keys are located on the left edge while the power button is on the right edge. This makes it exceptionally easy to take screen shots.

Features wise, there is the on screen finger print recognition which can be paired with face recognition for unlocking the phone. There is also App cloner for cloning facebook, whatsapp, messenger and telegram for multiple account login. There is also a preinstall app “SoLoop”  which helps you create short video clips automatically by selecting a template.

I like the 65W SuperVOOC 4.0.  It took us around 40 minutes to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%. In fact, it was so fast that within 5 minutes,, it is already 10% charged. At 10 mins, it wwas 35% charged.

Price S$899

The camera took nice pictures except for the wide angle shots seem faded. The digital zoom took better pictures than my expectation. Night shots seem to take a longer exposure than the Pixel 4a which resulted in brighter photos. Audio in Video recording in too soft.

For the retail price of S$899, it is rather expensive compared tot he Pixel 4a at S$499.  That is S$400 difference in pricing for the extras like wide angle, dual SIM slot, VoLTE support, SuperVOOC.

Overall, Oppo Reno4 Pro has got the chemistry right with the design both in hardware and software.  I am looking forward to a 5G version of it.
