PC sales dropped to an eight year low in 2015

According to Gartner, PC sales has shrunk.  about 8% from previous year. From the chart compiled by Statista, global PC sales peaked in 2011 at 365 million units. From 2012 after Microsoft released Windows 8, the sales volume has gone down hill.

This is inevitable as end users move away from bulky PCs for iPads and Android smartphone and tablets. Gamers on the other hand is a small niche group just like the LN2 overclockers who probably knows how to boost GHz without much practical use.

Both Gartner and IDC believe that the PC market has almost hit bottom, and are forecasting a slight recovery or at least flattening in late 2016, driven in part by the rise of convertible tablet-PC hybrids and in part by enterprise adoption of new Windows 10 PCs.
