Review of Grid Mobile SIM ONLY Plan
27/6/2019
We just received the SIM card and will be doing some tests on it. At the mean time, you can take a look at what this new MVNO has to offer by the link below.

The SIM card was inserted into the Nova 3i and it uses the Singtel postpaid APN. There is no additional configuration required.
VoLTE is apparently missing, it seems to be a feature only for the MNOs.
Here are some of the test results using Netflix, Speedtest and Network Cell Info.
Device used for the test is a Huawei Nova 3i (CA enabled) with dual SIM using Circles.Life and Grid. The giga! test was conducted on the Pixel 3a.
The results are pretty good against Circles.Life (M1) and Giga (Starhub).
Network Cell info | Speedtest | NetFlix Speedtest | |
grid mobile | -80 dBm | 55.3 Mbps | 64 Mbps |
Circles.Life | -96 dBm | 88.6 Mbps | 63 Mbps |
giga! | -84 dBm | 87.4 Mbps | 70 Mbps |
The speeds are comparable. As for TPG, the signal level was -122 dBm as there is no indoor antenna coverage, the performance is omitted. You can find all the test results at https://www.facebook.com/ocworkbench
Currently, gridmobile do not offer any app to check the usage of the plan. According to grid, it is in the works.
So far so good for day 1 of it’s launch. The only glitch is that we received a SMS saying that our data (20 GB) is used up just within an hour of test. It is definitely not as we can still run all network tests.
To summarise, gridmobile offers you a 20 GB data at S$25/mth with reward points. The plus point is that it comes with a buddy sim which has 1 GB data and 30 minutes of talk time. Unforuntately, the data can’t be shared between the two lines. grid mobile also has a comprehensive referral rewarding scheme which can help you get rebates to your bill or spend it at participating stores.
