Router put to the test

The router features 4 LAN ports, limiting devices connected through them to a maximum speed of 1 Gbps. This restriction stems from the router’s configuration of 1 x 2.5 GbE WAN and 4 x 1 GbE LAN ports.

In our wireless testing, we found that the 2.4 GHz band typically offers slower speeds and may not be the best choice for connectivity. For our tests, we disabled the 2.4 GHz band and opted to test using the 5GHz-2 band instead. We selected Channel 100, which is less crowded. The advantage of choosing Channel 100 is its potential for a 160 MHz bandwidth. It’s worth noting that if the router detects radar activity, it will automatically switch you to Channel 15x.

Here is our test result.

We managed to get a speedtest result of 1.875 Gbps over WIFI 6 on Ch 100 over SIMBA 2.5 Gbps fibre broadband.

The result is pretty impressive but that is provided you have a newer device like xiaomi 14. The other redmi note 12 Pro+ was only able to get around 900 Mbps when tested against the same server.

Conclusion

With its tri-band technology, WiFi 6 capabilities, advanced features for gamers and remote workers, powerful processor, premium cooling design, and ultra-fast wired speeds, the RadiX AX6600 gaming router is the ultimate solution for anyone seeking top-notch performance and seamless connectivity. Say goodbye to connectivity woes and hello to a world of limitless possibilities with the RadiX AX6600.

Although it has all the power, the device would be better if it have include 4 x 2.5 Gbps ports instead of 4 x 1 Gbps ports.

As a wireless router, it will be able to cater to the bandwidth requirement of multiple users over the 2.4 GHz band and 2 x 5 GHz bands.
