Conclusion

The Nokia C6 smartphone based on the Symbian OS is Nokia’s attempt to grab more marketshare with this mid range smartphone. The C6 has a pretty good specification considering it’s price point. I am particularly satisfied with the keypad as it is way better than most of the offerings in the market right now.

As it is Symbian base, there is no lack of applications available for this proven platform. Access the OVI Store and there are tons of applications you can choose from. Unfortunately, the C6, with its aging OS and processor, it doesn’t seem to be very responsive sometimes compared to other phones based on the Android platform.

For users who are used to capactive screen, the resistive screen would be something to get used to as you would need to use your fingers to manuvere through the menus at times.

Overall, as a phone, the audio quality and camera functions are good. The resisitive screen can be compensated with the sliding keypad for text entry. On top of that, you get Ovi maps for free. It is definitely a price/performance winner as you are paying a low price for a mid range phone.

The Nokia C6 is exclusively available from Singapore’s telco M1 under the Pay nothing with Sunlite plan on Take 3 or S$68 for 2 yrs contract (correct at press time).
