Data roaming in the Maldives has always been notoriously expensive. However, SIMBA Telecom has quietly added the Maldives as a Group C destination under its S$25 plan.
With this plan, you get 15GB of shared international roaming data that works in nearly 70+ countries — including the Maldives.
Based on publicly available information, roaming data in the Maldives can cost S$40–S$50 for a very small amount of data. Even on SIMBA’s lower-tier plans, usage in the Maldives is charged at S$15 per GB.
By upgrading to the S$25 plan, you can use the included 15GB international roaming data directly in the Maldives at no extra cost. Roaming is supported on Ooredoo / MDV 02 / WM / Wmobile / Wataniya (472-02) networks. As VoLTE is not supported, voice calls may need to be made via the SIMBA Voice app.
