Singtel has launched its 5G Standalone (SA) network, offering customers early access to the most advanced 5G connectivity globally. Compared to 4G, 5G SA delivers twice the responsiveness, 30% faster uploads, and strengthened authentication and encryption capability. With much greater bandwidth and near-instant responses, 5G SA will enable revolutionary applications like self-driving cars, real-time immersive entertainment, and massive IoT (Internet of Things) connections.
Singtel has teamed up with Samsung, its official 5G SA launch partner, to give selected customers early access to this next-generation mobile network. From today, customers can get a taste of Singtel’s 5G SA network on Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G handsets, running a Singtel-exclusive beta release of Samsung’s 5G SA software. Customers can register their interest at www.singtel.com/5GSAearlyaccess to be one of the first customers to experience Singtel’s 5G SA network. Customers with creative entries on how 5G will transform their lives will be selected to receive a “5G Power Up” kit that comprises a 5G SA SIM card, a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G handset and cool accessories.
Starhub, on the other hand is getting customers ready for the switch to 5G SA. Customers who recontract or sign up to a new Mobile+ plan will be issued new 5G SIM cards starting from mid June.
StarHub will reach out to existing customers on our Mobile+ plan progressively in the coming weeks with information on how to switch out their current SIM cards.
