StarHub enhances mobile TV offerings with exploration, adventure and fashion programmes from three new channels, giving customers unrivalled mobile entertainment on-the-go

Singapore, 7 December 2009 – From 9 December 2009, StarHub Mobile post-paid customers will be able to receive three new lifestyle channels – National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo Adventure and Fashion TV – from any 3G mobile phone.

With the new channels, the StarHub TV on Mobile service boasts 20 channels, offering the most comprehensive news coverage and widest range of entertainment content for customers on the move.

Mr Chan Kin Hung, Head of Products and Solutions at StarHub, said: “As part of our hubbing strategy that aims to give StarHub customers more value and freedom of choice, we made available cable TV channels on mobile for customers’ anywhere, anytime viewing about a year ago. Today, our mobile TV viewership has grown to more than 50,000 every month, enabling our customers who are always on the move to enjoy the freedom to view their preferred channels when they cannot be at home. With our advanced HSPA+ network, they can now enjoy even better quality mobile TV viewing.”

On Mondays, customers can sample any StarHub TV on Mobile channel for free. This month, access to 12 selected channels is free-of-charge while viewing of other channels is charged at $1 for unlimited 24-hour access to all other channels. No additional charges will be incurred data access.

To watch StarHub’s mobile TV channels or read the programme synopses, customers using the latest smart phones can enjoy the added convenience of one-click instant access to the StarHub TV on Mobile menu. Alternatively, they can access the service from the Gee! mobile content portal.
