Today marks the start of the work week, with everyone returning after the holidays. Last week saw three consecutive days of downtime affecting Singtel’s 4G and 5G services. Today, at around 3:38pm, several users are reporting that both mobile and fibre broadband networks appear to be experiencing issues again

Downdetector.sg detected at peak of 9077 cases where 50% is on fibre broadband and 29% is on 4 or 5G mobile internet.

Singtel posted on their facebook that “Our Engineers are investigating and we’ll provide updates shortly”.

Singtel customers met with disruptions for 3 consecutive days on March 16 to March 18 with a 9 hour disruption on March 16.

As I mentioned before, there should be telco redundancy whereby when one telco’s network is down, subscribers should be able to piggyback onto another without network disruption. This is a must for a real resilent network.
