SONY Tablet S emphasize on 4 major selling points. They are Swift and Smooth Experience, Network Entertainment, True Cross Device COnnectivity and Applications.
We tested the Tablet S and find it smooth loading. Video playback is fluid without delay. One thing to note is the large keys of the virtual keypad, it makes data entry way easier and less prone to mistakes.
In terms of Network entertainment, the SONY TABLET S is PlayStation Certified in which PlayStations games can be played on it. Crash Bandicoot and pinball Heroes come preinstalled.
As for Cross Device Connectivity, the tablet can be wirelessly connected to DLNA capable TV, AV equipment. users can just “throw” or send pictures to be displayed on their DLNA capable TV sets with a swipe of the finger.
Something unique with Tablet S is that it comes with an application that turns the tablet into a multi purpose remote control. It not only supports wide range of brands and models, it can also learn and control fans, air cons etc.
SONY Tablet S is available in both 16GB and 32GB models at SGD 668 and SGD 798 respectively from end of October 2011.
As for 3G models, we spoke to a SONY representative and she mentioned that 3G models will come later and that depends on market conditions.
