Synology® Introduces RackStation RS3614xs and RS3614RPxs

Taipei, Taiwan—June 17, 2014—Synology® today advances its flagship XS series line-up with the all-new 12-bay RackStation RS3614xs and RS3614RPxs. They offer large-scale businesses an ultra-fast, highly scalable and reliable storage solution to meet their requirements for uptime and cost-efficiency.

Both models feature substantial platform and bandwidth upgrades to a dual core 3.4 GHz CPU and dual PCIe slots that support up to four 10GbE connectivity, achieving 74% performance gains at 3,518 MB/s and 282,660 IOPS. They come with native SATA III 6 Gb/s support and read/write-optimized SSD cache support to efficiently boost throughput while minimizing cost per gigabyte.
Equipped with 4GB ECC RAM expandable to 32GB, the RS3614xs and RS3614RPxs provide superior performance as well as data accuracy. To ensure continual service, they support Synology High Availability and offer a suite of redundancy mechanisms including redundant system fans and network ports with failover support. Redundant power supplies are available on the RS3614RPxs and the RX1214RP expansion unit to further maximize system uptime.
Designed to grow with business, the storage capacity of the RS3614xs and RS3614RPxs can be scaled to 216 TB when paired with two RX1214 or RX1214RP expansion units. They are ideal storage solutions for major virtualization servers by achieving certifications of Microsoft® Windows Sever 2012 with Hyper-V™, VMware® vSphere™ 5 VAAI, and Citrix® XenServer™.
