Overclocking
Although the processors are still on it’s way to the retail stores, early samples of the APUs overclockability tests have surfaced on the internet. The A10-7850K is capable of delivering a clock of up to 4.5GHz stable on air by just changing the multiplier. With the options to change the other parameters, the overclocking capability is limitless. Overclockers can try to increase the GPU and memory clock. According to AMD document, they achieved 300MHz on the CPU, 234MHz on the GPU, and 150MHz on the memory, which netted performance increases upwards of 10-25%.
Summary
From the test results, the AMD platform is still a viable option for productivity and game play. For the budget conscious, the AMD Kaveri remains a good challenger to the mid range Intel Core series.
