AMD Ryzen 1300X and 1200 Review

Within 3 months, AMD has uneviled and made available it’s high and mid range processors, the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 series. Today, 27 Jul 2017 marks the day where AMD completes it’s line up with the introduction of the Ryzen 3 series entry level processors.

The Ryzen 3 1200 and Ryzen 3 1300X retails for S$165 and S$199 or USD 109 and USD 129 on Amazon and is available from 27 Jul 2017 online and retail stores. Both processors comes with Wraith Stealth Cooler.

The processors can be paired with the following motherboards from ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, BIOSTAR, ASROCK

The Ryzen 3 just like it’s more powerful Ryzen 5 and 7 is designed around the new x86 “Zen” microarchiteture. The Ryzen 3 hopes to target the SUB $300 segment in PC Gaming.

In addition, it gives gamers an alternative to Intel processors in terms of price/performance, overclocking, number of cores, motherboard selection etc.

Ryzen 3 also bring multi thread to the mainstream with it’s 4 core 4 threads $100-$150 range processors.

The new processors available today are the 1300X and 1200. Both processors spots a 65W TDP . Both has 512K L2 and 8MB L3.  Both are 4 core 4 threads with different base frequcies and XFR frequencies.
