ASRock releases pictures of 4 models of Intel X79 boards – X79 Extreme4 M, X79 Extreme4, X79 Extreme7 and X79 Extreme9; X79 Extreme4 M – the first mATX X79 board

ASRock X79 Extreme9

ASRock X79 Extreme9 is the highest end of the series. It also has 5 PCIe slots and supports either 3 way SLI or 3 way CrossFire. Similar to the X79 Extreme4, this board uses 2 oz copper pcb design for better coooling.

There are 8 DIMM slots which supports quad channel DDR3-2400(OC). Surrounding the socket are heatsink that cools the components.

The front connectors include 12 SATA connectors, front USB 3.0 connector. Other on boad features include 1394a, USB 3.0 , XFast LAN, XFast USB.

On the back of the mainboard, we can see the PS/2 keyboard & mouse connectors,1394, USB 3.0, eSATA, GbE and audio ports. The sound card is powered by an external card that can be attached to the PCIe x1 slot on board. On board the card is the audio ports, SPDIF digital and optical and a LAN port.
