ASUS launched RT-AC87U, world’s fastest 5GHz router boasting 2334Mbit/s speed and utmost coverage

ASUS launched RT-AC87U fastest 5GHz router at press event today at the Hotel Fort Canning in Singapore. This new wireless router, RT-AC87U comes with an AC2400-class dual-band 802.11ac wireless router with a four-transmit, four-receive (4×4) antenna configuration. It employed multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) technology for maximum speed and coverage.

In addition to that, the RT-AC87U also incorporates ASUS AiRadar universal beamforming, adaptive Quality-of-Service (QoS), plus AiProtection with exclusive Trend Micro security. With AiProtection, your router effectively becomes the guard dog of your network.

How did ASUS arrive at this magical number 2334 Mbps ? Basically this AC2400 class router runs 802.11ac at the 5GHz band of speed up to 1734Mbps and for the 2.4GHz band, it uses the Broadcom TurboQAM technology to boost the 802.11n from 450Mbps to 600Mbps (with ASUS PCE-AC681 card).
