Canon today introduced the new MAXIFY range of office printers. The multifunctional MAXIFY MB5370, MB5070 printers and the single-function MAXIFY iB4070 are designed to cater to the needs of small or home offices that carry out high-volume colour printing, and empower business owners to enjoy advanced security, network and cloud connectivity features.
“The new multifunctional range of MAXIFY business inkjet printers will strengthen Canon’s print solutions especially for SOHO customers, with modern high-quality, high-yield and connected solutions for all their document-printing and copying needs,” said Edwin Teoh, Assistant Director for Consumer Business Marketing of Canon Singapore. “These new printers aim to empower businesses with greater productivity and efficiency and thus, achieving significant cost savings in the process.”
Designed for High Volume Printing
The MAXIFY MB5370 and iB4070 are fitted with two 250-sheet paper cassettes, facilitating high-volume 500 page print jobs quickly and easily. For businesses with more moderate printing volume needs, the MAXIFY MB5070 fulfils their needs with a single 250-sheet cassette.
The printers are packaged with standard yield ink capacities of up to 1,000 pages for black-and-white, and 700 pages in colour. With the optional XL high-yield ink cartridges, businesses will be able to print up to an impressive 2,500 document pages in black-and-white and 1,500 pages in colour, thereby allowing them to reduce overall printing costs in their business operations by at least 50%1.
New Water- and Marker-resistant Ink
To address print durability, a key consideration for business document printing, Canon has developed a new Dual Resistant High Density Ink (DRHD). The new DRHD ink demonstrates excellent water and marker resistant properties on plain paper, ensuring that printed content and key information will not fade upon contact with moisture.
With the DRHD ink, text printed on plain office-grade paper shows impressive contrast and sharpness, and colour prints exhibit photo-realism to allow business proposals to stand out from the competition.
Swift Printing and Processing Speeds
Equipped with longer print heads and a new advanced overlapping paper feed system, the MAXIFY series feature ISO/IEC 24711-12 print speeds of up to 23 images per minute (ipm) for black-and-white documents, and up to 15 ipm in colour. In daily operation, users can expect maximum achievable print speeds of up to 32.4 pages per minute (ppm) in black-and-white, and 24 ppm in colour, in draft quality.
Unlike other larger enterprise printers that require a long waiting time for a first print out, users can expect to receive the first page of a black-and-white document job in a mere 7 seconds.
Boost Productivity with Dual Contact Image Sensors
The MAXIFY MB5370 is the first Canon desktop inkjet printer to feature a single-pass
2-sided Auto Document Feeder (ADF) scan engine. The built-in twin Contact Image Sensors (CIS) allows for swift duplex scanning in a single paper pass, at a fraction of the speed normally taken by other ADF scanners.
Share Images Effortlessly by Scanning Direct to Destination
For enhanced productivity, the Scan to Network feature allows scanned images and pdf documents to be sent to storage in a shared network folder, allowing other users in the office to locate the information easily. Additionally, the Scan to Email function allows scanned images to be sent to any email address, empowering professionals on the move to always have access to their required documents.
Multiple possibilities with various options in connectivity
The inclusion of Wi-Fi connectivity2 opens up multiple possibilities with printing on the MAXIFY printers. The MAXIFY Printing Solutions (MPS) app for the iOS and Android OS platforms allows printing of PDF, images and other office formats from users’ mobile devices. Scanning to a mobile device is also made possible with the MPS app.
The integrated MAXIFY Cloud Link service adds on cloud access functionality by allowing printing from and scanning to cloud storage providers such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, and Evernote. MAXIFY Cloud Link can be accessed directly from the LCD display on the MB5370 and MB5070, and is also available from the MPS app.
The MAXIFY series of printers are also compatible with the Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print3 technologies.
Alternatively, users can also print and scan wirelessly using Access Point mode. Copy and Push Scan functions are also available in this mode.
Enhance Time-efficiency through Customised Profiles
MAXIFY also features a variety of time and resource saving features. The Custom Profiles setting allows up to 20 of the most-frequented copy, scan, or fax settings to be saved into memory, so that they can be retrieved instantly when required. Custom Profiles is a direct convenience for users, saving them time and avoiding the hassle of navigating and keying in details on the printer’s LCD display on multiple occasions.
With the introduction of Job Reservation function, user will be able to initiate the next task even when the device is printing, which cannot be done previously. This function boost work efficiency as the wait time between print jobs will be reduced.
Maximum Device and Document Security
With the sharing of devices across multiple users, device and document security has increased in relevance. To address this, the MAXIFY MB5370, MB5070 and the iB4070 offer a Setting Restrictions feature, which allows an administrator password to be set to tamper-proof device settings.
With Operation Restrictions, business owners can also implement cost-saving measures, such as ensuring that document copies are always made in monochrome mode, or restricting the copy function altogether for a multifunctional device. If required, the USB front port of the device can also be disabled to prevent confidential documents from being scanned or saved into portable flash memory and removed from the workplace.
Monitor and Master Cost-control Measures
To provide business owners with more control over their printing and expenses, MAXIFY MB5370 and MB5070 allow business owners to track and monitor their records of print, scanning, copying or faxing. By accessing the LCD display, they can track the frequency of printing or copying done in black-and-white or in colour, and even control paper wastage by monitoring how often duplex printing is performed.
The MB5370 and MB5070 can also be programmed to switch off and on automatically at preset timings with the Scheduled ON/OFF feature to lower power consumption.
