Do you play games on your smartphones but always lament the lag in performance. Well, Honor has the solution with it’s first gaming phone – Honor Play.
Powered by the Huawei Kirin 970 processor, the same processor on the Honor 10, this 6.3 ” FHD (1080×230) 19:5:9 screen is well suited for gaming with it’s GPU turbo boost.
The GPU Turbo Boost is first on the Honor series and boost a 60% performance improvement and a 30% savings in power consumption.
In addition, Honor Play is equipped with 4D Gaming Experience with Smart Shock. The software recognises the gaming scenario and intelligently generates a feedback vibration similar to the playstation. There is 3D Surround Sound by Histen 3D audio technology. It provides ultra wide 3D sound field for gamers complementing the 4D smart shock.
The Honor Play comes with 64GB ROM and 4GB RAM and has a 3750 mAh battery which can last for 1.5 days of heavy use. The camera is a 16 MP + 2 MP rear camera with F/2.2 and F/2.4 respectively. The AI feature is the same as Honor 10 and it can recognise 500+ scenarios in 22 categories multi scene. There is also a 16 MP front facing camera.
The smartphone supports audio connector, USB type C, nano SIM or microSD card. As for connectivity, there is 802.11 b/g/n/a/n/ac, BT 4.2.
For those who require dual SIM, this phone supports Dual 4G with Dual VoLTE. So you can surf while making a voice call at the same time. 4G LTE bands supported are TDD B38/B40/B41, FDD: B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20.
The phone comes with Ultra Violet, Navy Blue and Midnight Black. There will also be a Player Edition in Red/Black.
There is no pricing information available but we should be expecting somewhere between S$400-S$500. Pre order starts from 28th Jul till 6 Aug 2018. Official launch is 7th Aug 2018. Asia launch is in Malaysia.
