SiSoft Sandra 2011 Disk test and Removal storage test
In our benchmark tests, we ran the 64GB drive by connecting it to a BIOSTAR TH67XE Motherboard with NEC USB 3.0 connector and a ASRock H67M-GE/HT board with it’s on board EtronTech USB 3.0 controller with and without XFast turned on.
In the first test, we ran Sandra 2011 disk performance test on the HyperX MAX 3.0 External USB 3.0 drive. Running it on USB 2.0 is to illustrate the bottleneck at 32MB/s. With NEC USB 3.0 controller, it achieved 146.76MB/s for sequential read. We moved on to another system powered by Etrontech controller and we see a boost by 2MB/s to 148MB/s. The real surprise is with ASRock’s XFast utility set to TURBO, the reading time rockets up to 241MB/s.
Using removal storage test, it tests the IOPs. Again, we get 380.7 IOPS when we connect it to the traditional USB 2.0 port on the P67 board. With NEC 3.0, we get 1230.4 IOPS. The Etrontech is able to achieve a 200 more IOPS at 1450.3. When we turn on XFast, it boosted the performance to 2314 IOPS.
