M1 to offer carrier billing for Windows Phone apps
Enjoy convenient payment to thousands of popular apps
SINGAPORE, 2 May 2014 – M1 Limited (M1) customers using Windows Phones can now enjoy the convenience of paying for their apps through their M1 bill.
The new service, available immediately, will enable M1 postpaid customers to pay for Windows Phone apps, games and content such as Phototastic and Plants Vs Zombies securely and conveniently through their M1 bill.
“With over 80% of our customers now using smartphones, access to high quality apps and other content is a key component of the mobile experience on any platform,” said Mr P. Subramaniam, Chief Marketing Officer, M1.
Mr Subramaniam added: “As part of our commitment to continually enhance the customer experience, M1 worked with Microsoft to deliver a convenient and seamless alternative payment option for our customers to pay for the apps, games and other content they want, through their trusted mobile operator.”
Most Windows Phone devices will have the option to charge purchases to the customers‘ M1 bill as the default payment method, unless the user chooses alternative payment options. Windows Phone offers several features to help customers prevent any accidental or fraudulent purchases, including the option to require a Microsoft Wallet PIN number to confirm a purchase. Customers will also receive an e-mail confirming any purchases on their Microsoft accounts.
