Mediatek MT 6592 8 Octa core processor device thrashes popular Android devices in Antutu Benchmark tests
Mobile devices are becoming more and more popular. With more chip makers jumping onto the bandwagon, we should see more competitive price/performance on devices. MediaTek joined in the race and delivered the first 8 core mobile processor MT 6592. Although the chip is not commonly seen in devices in Europe and America, it is well adopted by China makers like ZTE and some smaller companies. The link is a list of the devices from various less known manufacturers in China (link).
In fact, the performance of this chip is pretty amazing. In this leak video, the OEM Mlais MX69 8-core MT6592 running Antutu benchmark scores 26706 thrashing HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2, Xperia Z etc. Although it is able to take on these devices, it is still behind the newer Snapdragon 800 devices e.g. LG G2 was benchmarked on AnTuTu at 35,376. The Sony Xperia Z1 scored a 30,383.
