IOMeter Benchmark on OCZ RevoDrive
Iometer is an I/O subsystem measurement and characterization tool for single and clustered systems. It is used as a benchmark and troubleshooting tool and is easily configured to replicate the behaviour of many popular applications. One commonly quoted measurement provided by the tool is IOPS.
As there aren’t much documentation on how to configure this tool, results varies from tester to tester. In our case, we select the 4K random write 100% test for access specifications. As for the disk targets, we used 32 outstanding I/O. To our surprise, it surpassed the rated 75,000 IOPS reaching 83,000 IOPS on the average. Our OCZ Vertex II is only capable of around 50,000 IOPs. (total I/O per sec). Kingston SSD scored 18,856 IOPS.
