Review Conclusion of ASUS ENGTX460 TOP 768MB Graphics card
If you are looking for custom built GeForce GTX460 graphics card, I would say that the ASUS ENGTX460 TOP is worth considering. I particularly like the way it is cool air flow design. The copper heatpipe also effectively cools down the GPU.
In our temperature test, we ran the Kombuster utility from MSI. It is basically the same tool FUR that is used to heat up the GPU. In normal room temperature of 29 deg celsius, the initial GPU temperature is 34 degrees. While running the test, we noticed the GPU is fully utilitised and the temperature remains steady at 56 Deg Celsius.
In terms of overclocking, ASUS cards is known for its overvoltage tweak. With it installed, the gpu voltage can be increased from default of 0.897v to 1.087v. In fact, our overclocking tests shows that at 1.087v, our GPU clk can be raised to 935MHz with shader clk at 1870MHz and memory oc to 3880MHz. With the overclock, we are able to get a performance boost in 3D frame rate by around 10 fps in various benchmarks.
Overall, the ASUS ENGTX460 DX11 as a mid range card is worth considering as it inches in performance previously saturated with AMD cards. For a similar price tag, you also get 3D and better overclocking feature that others can’t provide.
