ATTO Disk Benchmark

In ATTO Disk Benchmark, the drive is put to the test with variou block sizes of data. The first screen shot is the drive differently connected to the SATA 6Gbps port on board the motherboard, the second is through Thunderbolt port on board through Seagate GoFlex Thunderbolt adapter.

The results shoudn’t be much of a surprise as 2nd generation SandForce controller is amazingly fast. With a transfer size of 8K, the read and write  reaches 527 MBps for read and 557 MBps for write. That is in line of what is promised as indicated on the package box.

What happens when the drive is connected via a Thunderbolt adapter ? The fastest it can go is limited to 352 MBps and 389 MBps for read and write respectively.
