This morning, we conducted a highly anticipated test for SIMBA users—the 5G NSA support. We examined the compatibility of the Pixel 7 Pro running Android 14 QPR1.
Subsequently, we assessed whether the newly released Pixel 8 Pro would enable 5G NSA for the SIMBA 5G network. The good news is that it functions seamlessly right from the moment you unbox it.
Although it shows a 5G logo, we noticed that speedtest still shows “4G” icon. nPerf shows 5G NSA though. It seems to be a bug which is carried over to the QPR1 since the carrier date indicated on the firmware is July 25, 2023.
