M1 today announce that they will shutdown their 3G network as planned on 1st August 2024. According to M1 they will re-deployed and add it to their 5G n1 spectrum for 5G SA/NSA deployment after 3G cessation. If operated jointly with Starhub, it would give them both a 25 MHz n1 band for deployment.

As for Singtel and StarHub, they will give their remaining 3G subscribers more time to migrate, with plans to discontinue the network from November, said the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) in a statement on July 24.

To date, Singtel MVNO customers from Zero1, CMLINK, VIVIFI have yet to get the VoLTE provisioning. If Singtel were to shutdown 3G on 1st August, all these customers will not be able to make voice calls.

As SIMBA is a 4G and 5G network since day 1, SIMBA users will not be affected by the 3G shutdown.
