MyRepublic
MyRepublic has 3 plans PURE, PURE HD and gamer plan. Pure and Pure HD are similar except the download speeds of 100Mbps at S$38.88/mth and 150Mbps at S$48.88/mth respectively. It also promises video streaming priority and no bittorrent blocking. There is a S$58 activation charge. Both plan comes with free router, norton internet security, home voice subscription and teleport subscription (allows you to watch overseas video streams like netflix). The gamer plan is similar to the Pure HD except that it has lower latency and best for video streaming and gaming. It is priced at S$58.88/mth.
Conclusion
Both M1 and Singtel have very similarly priced plans for plain vanilla fibre broadband service. There is no doubt it is the cheaper of the two.
Starhub on the other hand has the cheapest 100Mbps plan. After calculating the free subscription, you pay only S$29.92/mth
The bundle with Starhub TV Freeview is a bonus.
MyRepublic the low latency game. MyRepublic priced their 100Mbps at S$38.88 is a bit steep. The 3 telcos don’t charge activation fees but it is not waived off here. I would recommend to those who use lots of bittorrent to download.
Viewquest plans are more towards video streaming using their VPN service. They throw in the Viewquest TV box and is configured for you to watch US, UK or China online tv stations which were IP blocked.
So, which plan will you sign up ?
