Cybershot Cameras now with 3D

Sony South East Asia announced twelve new Cyber-shot cameras today at the Sony: Inspiring Innovation event. This stylish new Cyber-shot lineup includes models with features such as Sony’s “Exmor R” CMOS sensor for 3D functionality, excellent lowlight performance and advance video capture, and also cameras with the Super HAD CCD sensor for the capture of dramatic panoramic scenes, making it easier for users to be even more creative and shoot high quality still images.

Amongst the lineup are four fresh 16.2-megapixel Cyber-shot cameras, the TX100V, TX10, HX7V and WX7 which are designed to be the world’s first compact digital still cameras to include 3D Still Image™ mode for taking 3D images using only one lens and imager. These models also come with “Dual Rec” technology for taking still photos during video capture. Additionally, the Cyber-shot TX100V is the first Cyber-shot with a 3.5-inch touch screen OLED display and is the world’s first compact digital still camera to include Full HD video capability for clear playback on high definition televisions. Furthermore, transferring photos and videos onto the computer is made effortless with the Cyber-shot J10’s built-in USB connector.

Handheld shots without the blurriness

Experience a longer zoom range with less movement blur with the Cyber-shot H and HX series cameras that sport Sony’s Optical SteadyShot with Active Mode, a powerful image stabilisation system for clearer results when shooting handheld, even at telephoto settings where camera shake is most pronounced.

The Cyber-shot H70 features a 10x optical zoom model with a 16.1-megapixel CCD sensor and incorporates camera features like the breakthrough Sweep Panorama™ technology, 720p HD movie recording and a 25mm wide lens to easily capture family portrait shots.

Cyber-shot HX9V

Users can also take advantage of cutting-edge innovations by Sony to shoot stills, video and in 3D with the quality expected from bigger, bulkier DSLRs, while using the Cyber-shot HX-series cameras. Besides the “Exmor R” CMOS sensor, the Cyber-shot HX7V and Cyber-shot HX9V also offer high performance with the Sony G lens and 10x-16x optical zoom in compact camera bodies.  In addition, the HX series cameras feature Full HD AVCHD video recording, for the capture of stunning movies in rich, high definition detail and stereo sound. The built-in GPS and Compass even records the location and direction of where photos were taken.

The small and light Cyber-shot HX9V also features a 24mm wide angle to accommodate virtually any photo opportunity. Furthermore, it performs very much like a DSLR with speedy shooting responses and high-speed autofocus which locks onto subjects in as little as 0.1 seconds, allowing users to snap the most fleeting photo moments with ease.

Power packed performance with great style

Sony also made additions to its world-class Cyber-shot TX and WX-series cameras, which combine sophisticated design factors with cutting-edge features. With Sony’s “Exmor R” Back-illuminated CMOS sensor technology, these models provide excellent low-light performance, 10fps burst shooting, and Intelligent Sweep Panorama™. The Cyber-shot TX10 and WX7 cameras also record crystal clear movies at 60i/50i in 1080 AVCHD.

Furthermore, Sony makes it easy to create personal 3D content with the Cyber-shot TX and WX series. 3D images can be captured using 3D Sweep Panorama™ mode or the new 3D Still Image mode. In 3D Still Image mode, the camera takes two consecutive shots in different focus positions to calculate the depths and then creates left-eye and right-eye images to produce a 3D effect. These images can be enjoyed in 2D or stunning 3D on compatible 3D televisions like Sony’s new 3D BRAVIA models.

The Sweep Multi Angle™ technology lets users view images moving in simulated 3D right on the cameras’ LCD screen (or OLED with touch screen) by tilting the camera back and forth. This shooting feature captures an amazing 15 images at different angles and then compiles them into one photo, creating a 3D-like effect on the display.

Cyber-shot TX10

The TX100V is the first Cyber-shot with a 3.5-inch OLED display with touch screen that provides deeper blacks and more vibrant colour contrast on screen, all while being thinner and offering faster response time than most camera LCDs when shooting movies. With Full HD 1920 x 1080 at 60p/50p video capabilities, the Cyber-shot TX100V also provides stunning, fast motion video and smoother playback when shooting action such as sports and capturing better still                                                                        images when clipping from video.

Where conversation piece meets workhorse is the 16.2-megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-TX10. This tough camera comes with a 3-inch LCD touch screen and is not only waterproof, shockproof, dustproof and freeze-proof compliant, but also offers HD movie recording, 3D photo capture, Intelligent Sweep Panorama and the “Exmor R” CMOS sensor that promises crisp clear photos even in low light.

Wire-free image transfers onto the computer

Also new from Sony is the Cyber-shot J10 which combines superior image quality with simple, uncluttered operation. The camera sports a powerful 16.1 megapixel CCD sensor, 4x optical zoom lens with 25mm wide angle, Sweep Panorama and Intelligent AUTO to capture precious moments in spectacular detail on the go.

Cyber-shot J10

Built on the concept of “Easy to share”, the J10 features built-in USB connector and PMB Portable software which eliminate the need for data transfer cables and enable direct upload of pictures and movies to any computer. Boasting 4GB of internal memory, users can simply start shooting once they take the light and compact J10 out of the box.
