The ASRock 890GX Extreme3 is a full ATX mainboard with 3 full length PCIe slots. The blue slots when used in CrossFireX mode runs in Dual 8X otherwise if th single blue slot is used it runs in PCIe 2.0 x 16 mode. The white colour PCIe slot runs in PCIe x4 mode. To the rigth is another PCIe x1 and there are 3 other PCI slots on the board. The IO chip, VIA audio codec, USB 3.0 controller chip are located right behind the blue PCIe slots.
To the right is the power phase and mosfet underneath covered with the heatpipe. The north bridge AMD 890GX is at the centre of the board with the nanya DDR3-1333 Sideport memory next to it. To the right is the AM3 socket and 4 DIMM slots right below supporting up to 16GB of DDR3-1800 (OC).
To the left you will seethe UCC chip and the SB850 south bridge. There are also 6 SATA 6Gbps ports, debug led and power/reset switches on the left.
Right behind the board, you would see the USB3.0 USB2.0 ports, DVI-D, DSBU, HDMI, CLEAR CMOS, 1394 audio ports, GbE and SPDIF connector
