Board Layout
The mainboard uses a Gold/Black colour scheme for it’s design. Frmo the left top corner of the board, we can find the audio chipset covered by a nicely crafted enclosure with the words “BIOSTAR” on top. Next to it is the GbE LAN chipset. To the right are the back panel – USB 3, eSATA, DVI, HDMI, Displayport etc.
There are three full length PCIe slots which can be used for CrossFireX or SLI. To the right is a large clearing for the CPU. Beneath it is the 4 DIMM slots supporting DDR3-2600(OC).
On the left bottom corner of the PCB, we can find the instant switches of Power, reset and Clear CMOS. There is a debug led too. The armour shaped heatsink covers the Intel chipset which now supports native USB 3.0
The back plane consists the PS/2 Keyboard. HDMI port, DisplayPort, DVI, D-SUB, eSATA, USB 3.0, USB 2.0 GbE, audio ports.
