The Taiwanese motherboard industry has always been very competitive. In the past decade, a number of brands have quit the DIY business due to poor profits or competition. Yesterday, there was a report circulating in the Taiwanese media. It was stated that ECS will quit their own brand motherboards and concentrate on OEM manufacturing.
ECS responded by issuing a press statement (see attached) to the press and partners. According to Mr. Sunny Yang, President of EliteGroup Systems, ECS is committed to their customers and will putting more resources to provide cutting edge products and marketing events as announced at Computex Taipei early last month.
