Conclusion

The ASUS F1A75-V Pro is a board that will satisfy most users. Marrying the mid range platform with high end components, ASUS gave us a board that runs fast. As we have seen from the charts earlier, the board was tested under normal and overclocked conditions. The performance is pretty good compared to other boards. In fact, in some games, the performance of it’s integrated graphics surpassed my expectations.

In terms of overclocking, the board has lots of options you can tweak with. On top of that, there are Digi+VRM for better system stability. During our overclocking test, we managed to push the system to 135 x 26, which is higher than the previous boards we have tested. Unfortunately, the ram timings have to be adjusted down to DDR3-1800 as our Kingston Grey series DDR3-2133 modules doesn’t seem to work too well at high memory clock speed.

In terms of features, the board adds on to what the chipset has to offer. The board uses ASMedia USB 3.0 chipset. This chipset supports USB 3.0 UASP mode, it delivers a 170% performance compared to other USB 3.0 solutions. The board features Dual Intelligent Processor 2 with DIGI+ VRM – the TPU (TurboV Processing Unit) and EPU (Energy Processing Unit) UEFI BIOS, AI Suite II, MEMOK and Anti Surge Protection etc. The board also supports external graphics card using the 2 PCIe 2.0 slots for CrossFireX.

The packaging is rather simple as it is kept to the minimum. Documentation is very precise and it gives a good write up on the BIOS options and features in the 60 page English manual.

The overall experience is a postive one but the lack of a third PCIe slot may or may not affect a user’s decision as the A75 targets the price conscious and performance users. We give this board our Silver Award.

Pros

Digi+ VRM
UEFI BIOS
USB 3.0 USAP

Cons

2 PCIe full length slots for CrossFireX (should have 3)
No power on /off and reset buttons
