Futuremark 3DMark Vantage and 3DMark 11 test
The same graphics card, the AMD Radeon HD 6850 is used on the three boards for comparison. In 3dmark vantage the test is done at High Quality.
Gigabyte X79-UD7 scored 9960 versus 9404 and 9488 on the other two boards. The difference isn’t that much but we can sense that the the benchmark is GPU bound as it might not have given it a big boost in the score. Nevertheless the result is still 500 points ahead of the earlier generation of processor and it beats the 6 core AMD processor.
In 3Dmark11 (X) test, the score is a bit of a surprise. Gigabyte X79-UD7 scored 1143 which is almost on par with the Z68X-UD7-B3 on Core i5 2500K. The difference is just 6 marks away.
