Roaming in Malaysia

Our reader, Shawn Ng went to JB to do a field test and he experience intermittent connections.
redONE can data and voice roam on Maxis, Digi and Umobile. The default auto roam selection picked up Digi. Although it is connected, simple facebook message can’t be sent out. Speedtest doesn’t seem to work.
Manually setting it to mymaxis seems to get it working but the connection is intermittent. Below are screen shots of the signal strength and the speedtest result of 1.4 Mbps.
The speed is so slow and problematic that he decided to use his M1 prepaid to data roam instead.
I think redONE is pretty new and a lot of things are a bit fleaky. It might take a few days or weeks to get it fixed.
