Sharp readies 5.5″ IGZO 4k Display for smartphones
Sharp, the famous panel maker is not only pushing 4K display on TV, they are also actively involved in delivering a 4K displays for smartphone.
The new smartphone will feature 5.5″ IGZO display with the capability of display 4K at a resolution of 2160 x 3840 delivering a pixel density of 806 ppi.
The new panel is at least 1.5x denser than current ones that delivers 500ppi to 550ppi. It is said that the panels will go into production as early as 2016. It is slated to make it’s first appearance at MWC 2016.
