The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 140W emerges as a formidable contender in the realm of charging solutions, boasting a robust array of features that cater to the needs of modern consumers. Let’s delve deeper into what sets this charger apart from the competition.
At its core, the BoostCharge Pro 140W is a 4-port GaN charger, featuring an impressive configuration of 3 USB-C ports and 1 USB-A port. This versatile setup allows users to charge up to 4 devices simultaneously, making it a convenient solution for households or individuals with multiple devices to power up.

When utilizing two USB-C ports concurrently, each port can deliver an impressive 65W of power. Should you opt to utilize all four ports simultaneously, the charger efficiently allocates 65W to two USB-C ports, 45W to one USB-C port, and 20W to another, with an additional 12W designated for the USB-A port. For a comprehensive breakdown of these charging configurations, refer to Belkin’s support article.
These various charging scenarios cater to a spectrum of device needs. For instance, the 45W output is ample for charging most ultraportable notebooks, while the 20W and 12W outputs suitably power most smartphones and smartwatches, respectively.
For optimal performance, particularly to harness the full 140W charging capacity, it’s advisable to pair the charger with a high-power USB-C cable. Belkin suggests their own 240W USB-C to USB-C cable (as shown in picture above) to maximize charging efficiency and effectiveness.
The inclusion of USB-C PD 3.1 technology further enhances the charging experience, offering lightning-fast charging speeds that can replenish a MacBook Pro 16″ from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes*. This level of performance is a game-changer for users who demand swift charging capabilities to keep up with their busy lifestyles.
Integral to the BoostCharge Pro 140W’s performance is its integrated GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology. This advanced semiconductor material enables the charger to deliver high-power, efficient charging, resulting in reduced heat generation and improved overall charging performance.
Furthermore, the charger supports fast charging of most PD3.1 (EPR) and PD3.0 enabled devices, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices on the market.

Some to take note is that devices that don’t support Power Delivery (PD) will charge at a slower speed with the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 140W charger. Here’s the breakdown:
USB-A port: This port provides standard charging speeds, typically around 12W. This is because it adheres to the USB Battery Charging Specification (BC 1.2), which is a common standard for slower charging.
USB-C ports (when used with non-PD devices): These ports might offer slightly faster charging than the USB-A port, but it won’t be as fast as PD. The exact speed depends on the device’s capabilities and the cable used. Some devices might negotiate a higher charging rate using other protocols like Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging or Qualcomm Quick Charge, but it won’t reach the full potential of the 65W ports. We have duplicated the power distribution chart from Belkin which you could find at the bottom of this article.
Although we do not have a Macbook, we do test it out on our Samsung S7 FE Tablet with a battery capacity of 10,090 mAh and supports 45W fast charging PPS. The charger took 46 minutes to reach 50% and was fully charged after approximately 2 hours. The time take is on par with the Belkin BoostCharge 65W charger.
In addition to its impressive performance capabilities, the BoostCharge Pro 140W is designed with user convenience and sustainability in mind. The charger is constructed using recycled plastic products, aligning with environmentally conscious consumers’ preferences. In my personal opinion, the charger is rather heavy compared to the conventinal chargers.
In conclusion, the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 140W is a standout charging solution that excels in both performance and eco-friendliness. With its formidable power output, rapid charging capabilities and multiport charging ports, you will never have an excuse for not having your devices charged up. This is especially useful for those who own a Macbook.
*Please note: Charging times may vary depending on device specifications and other factors.
