Improvements in performance
The enhancements added to the new “Steamroller” cores can result in IPC gains of up to 20% (see below). This is especially in Cinebench R15.
PCMark 8 v2
PCMark 8 v2 is a great way to test out the performance of an APU as it’s suite of tests are applications that are commonly used workloads on most PCs. They include desktop applications, including web browsing, word processing, writing, photo editing, casual gaming, and video chat, and summarizes performance with an easy-to-understand score. It is currently one of the best ways to accurate test and measure the performance of an APU.
From the chart, we can easily see that the performance far exceeds that of the Intel Core i5-4670K.
